Put a temporary wooden cross member in with a heavy welder hing off of it to stabilise the front, had to re-tap the holes due to the new paint and this extended wrench was perfect for the job.

Hell of job getting this in place, its very heavy and awkward, thought i could use the old U-bolts but when i put a gauge against the treads they are past it so new ones needed.

Thought i'd finish off with an easy job, the dash vents, except all the old #8 screws are sheared off, my fault for not looking before paint but now a rather tricky job of drilling the old ones out.

It's looking good Brad. Happy days putting it back together. Love the colour but it won't be quite as fast as the red tigers.

Think i may have the rare red Tigers covered with my bespoke camshaft, but we will see.

Fitted some door seals, glad i had a plastic set of trim tools, tricky to do at first but once you realise a twist is needed, easy enough

Had to recoil the #10 unf fitting for the hood bin pivot, as luck wouldn't have it my heli coil set started at 1/4 so had to buy another set, ho hum.

Not seen one of those before. Is it better than anti-tramp bars on springs?

Apparently so, it's made by Dan Walters and the Americans seem to think he knows what he's about.

This is going to be interesting.

So as its wiring time took a look at the old Alpine dash i have, heater controls not too happy for starters, all seized up.

The washer bottle bracket wasn't that difficult to make, though only having access to sheet steel added a new dimension.

PAS in, not too happy with the clearance to the wiper motor so will revisit that.

Here's the Alpine dash as a helper to route the wiring.

Wipe motor idler on the left was a bit stiff so took that out and now it purrs away.

Didn't reckon on having to make the heater control mounts,

Boot furniture handles come in 2 flavours, 2-5/16 and 2-7/16

all my door parts seem from a different series of car, nothing lines up....

Brad. Don't think they are door parts, they look like the brackets the false boot floor hooks into. Two on the fear fire wall either side and one on the boot lid in the middle to hold up the floor when the boot and floor are up.

think the bigger two on the fire wall smaller on the boot

Your making great progress Brad :D

Here's a photo of one of the brackets on the Firewall on my Tiger, no idea if these are original though?

I have no bracket on the boot, the hook on the rubber strap simply clips onto the boot lid support pressing, again no idea if this is original.

Regards

Gary

Yes they we're the handles for the boot, i made them fit the existing holes rather than drill new ones.

Hours of fun to be had fitting the windscreen seal to the glass, i's for ever trying to twist off again.

Eventually got it all back together, the finishers are fitted as well now.

Sorted the winder mechanism today as well, so will start building the doors up, then can install the windscreen.
