Possible Inspection Cover

Post by Tom_HRO260 » Tue Dec 08, 2015 1:21 am

Hi Brad
Mine's not 100% resto correct, but I made a small access panel at the lower reach of the rear of the inner front wheel arch (try saying that after a pint or 3) to allow cleaning/flushing/oiling of the inner sills. I see you have a similar area currently exposed - might be an option to consider?
Per Martin's offer, I can also send you some shots of the wing area if you require as my HRO is still in turkey mode...
Cheers
Tom

Rough Shots

Post by Tom_HRO260 » Wed Dec 09, 2015 8:59 am

Hi Brad
Difficult to get same angle with bloody valance in the way, so I've snapped a few in and around. There's also my little support brackets (non OE) that are in the way slightly, but a worthwhile add in.

Hope these help. Tom

Looking in through front rail/bumper irons support. Still on turkey roller so that's in the way as well I'm afraid

From the other side of the RHS rail, again through lower valance

Same side RHS, from inner arch

And a couple looking in through rad support panel at inside of LHS rail/valance top join

Thanks again Tom, a picture is better than a 1000 words.
I have some of the valance support brackets ready made to go on the same as yours.

Bit of work to do to the rear section of the n/s front wing, the top part with the splash shield has completely rotted out the splash shield was like lace, the previously fitted rear wing repair section doesn't fit & theres more holes by the sills, repaired a rather large hole in the inner wing already.

What's happened with the rear wing repair section?
I thought that was in.

By your tone I suspect it might be time to close the door for a few days.

I suppose that engine hanging around creates quite some impetus.

Run out of gas over the weekend but done some good progress.

Had a look at the front wing sections, the bashed about original was unusable, so after multiple attempts which took 9 hrs i mananged to get a section i was happy with, just need to trim it to suit now.

Cut the false floor as per Toms drawing, but can't see where it bolts too, nothing in the foot well seems to have holes that line up with the slots in the plate.

Hi Brad,
It is held to the floor by 2 brackets that it screws to and simply leans against the bulkhead.

The brackets are held to the floor by 2 pop rivets each.

You should find 2 sets of 2 holes about ( working from memory here) about 2 inches apart, about 4 to 6 inches towards you from the bulkhead which is where they are riveted down.

I'm at the outlaws at the moment but if no-one jumps in first I'll gets some pics for you later if you like.
