It does need some sort of key so surfaces of cast metal, shot blasted and corrosion pitting surfaces are ideal.
You remove the rust but the pitting is still there for it to grip to.
POR15 isn't a paint, it's a polyurethane coating. All paints are porous, POR isn't so water and air can never get through it.
It does have downside though.
It's expensive.
Using it can be a pain because you can't use it from the tin.
Unless you buy their thinners to clean your brush, you use a brush and then bin it.
You have to wear gloves with it because if you get it on your hands, it will be there for weeks.

If you use POR15, use cheap brushes and discard after use. It flows out well and on cast surfaces you would not tell it has been brushed.
The guy in the paint shop here sold me Xylene for thinners. Same as their thinners at a fraction of the cost.
If you use their chassis black, turps will thin and clean.

OS sill damage repaired & smoothed over. I did manage to solder the door to the sill at one point
Both chassis front X memebers have seen some off road use, the NS one is almost flat. Lots of rust under the exhaust cut outs, not to clear in the photo but there is an original drain hole which gets covered up by the exhaust brackets, so will probably re-instate that when the larger oval brackets go on.

Rear wings
Has anyone got some close up photos of the inner rear wing profile, i'm not sure if they are supposed to curve at each end or are flat all the way around?
