Well that's the car off of stands and on her new boots.

Just need to set the suspension up, get her road legal and then shake down.

Bit strange after all these years seeing her finished and the box of bits to fit being empty.

Thanks for the kind comments.
Slight delay to getting the suspension sorted as the wrong wheel nuts were supplied with the wheels and the supplier is out of stock.

No great worry as the amount of mud on the roads at the moment from all the rain and tractors around here she is best kept in the garage.

Wheel nuts all sorted now, any recommendations on settings for the castor, camber & toe?

3rd time trying to set up the suspension, made a proper front frame this time but still couldn't get the suspension on to its stops. Think the up-rated springs are throwing things out.

Got the camber right on, castor is 2 degrees out not sure if i need to shim the cross member to sort that out. Also the ride height at the front seems too jacked up, maybe i should take out the spring rubbers?

Brad

You may find when you use the car and have done a few hundred miles the suspension will settle

How much uprated are your springs?

Gary

Not sure, they came with the car, but they seem pretty rigid, assembling the suspension was a proper trial.

Got both sides set up the same so at least it won't throw me in the nearest ditch, will check it all again after a few miles.

Currently going through the registration process, i have to get a pre-registration form to give to the MOT guy, then when he says the car is road worthy i can apply for the new number plate.

Hi Brad
Did you get the standard springs with the car. When i uprated the front springs they were shorter in height than the standard which makes the ride height the same.
You must be getting an itchy right foot by now. The car is beautiful and a credit to you.

Hi Brad

Just wondered what the latest was with your Tiger, have you sorted all the teething issues and is it on the road now?

Regards

Gary

Thanks Mal, kind words and if I hadn't of seen yours first I probably wouldn't have bought this one.

The registration process is taking longer than I hoped, it was moved from your local council office to online. Unfortunately the online system was rather circular with no way of getting to speak with a human to see what was going on.
This must have been causing problems as the FFVE have just launched a help site to assist with the process.

I have a set of updated springs from Sunbeam spares to fit along with Mustang II rubber mounts, so hopefully that will do the trick, then its back to camber /castor gauges and bits of string.
