Been leaving the boot springs for a rainy day after reading many horror stories about fitting them, as it turned out it was one of the easiest jobs i've done so far, you just have to use some slave bolts.

Dash top in, tricky picking up on the existing holes for the under dash securing bars, lots of measurements needed.

6th attempt at the windscreen fitting, almost there then the body to screen seal throws a hernia, i've given it a name now YFB.

The Carter comes with straight NPT fittings which would look silly with the route of the fuel lines, so these reassuringly expensive swivel NPT ones are just the job.
The red item is an inertia switch, just in case of a shunt i don't want fuel being sprayed around.
There's also a pre-pump filter going in but that's under the boot floor.

Trial fit of the windscreen went ok this time, took nearly a whole day though to get the hood frame to latch into it without putting any stress into the windscreen frame.

Brad. Have you tried fitting the spare wheel! you may find it fouls with the fuel pump. I have had to fit mine to the right side for 15" space saver to clear.

Actually this was on and off another 30 or so times to get everything to line up, so many times in fact that i ended up stripping the chipped paint off and repainting it.

Anti roll bar wasn't going in easy with poly bushes, need some adjusting to get enough movement on the clips.

Thought getting the gaitor on was going to be a bit of a job but once sat in very hot water it literally only took 10 seconds to fit with the aid of a plastic trim tool.

Cowl isn't fitting very well for some reason, nor did the radiator which caused me a heap of aggro.

The derale fan also didn't fit very well, clashed with the radiator, front pulley, steering rack and cowl...

To get the radiator to fit i had to adjust the angle on the steering rack brackets as they were out a few degrees, also the bolts which clamp it down.

Easy end of the day job, just screw on the mirrors, no, the rubber guides are too thick for the mirror brackets.

Took a look at the seats which have been up in the attic, the bottoms are shot, diapram rubbers, foam, most of the fasteners resisted to the point of destruction and the cover bottoms have been previously repaired, the seat backs are all good though. So need to find some good seat bottoms if anyone knows where to get just them rather than a whole set.

Found a rather well executed PO job on the drivers seat with a fabricated cage held up with old clutch plate springs!

Also looked at the generator and looks like its been dropped and the pulley is a bit biffed up, not sure if that is recoverable, part no. C20-6AF if anyone has one knocking about.

Managed to recover the generator pulley, the shaft insert was a bit twisted, went from 64 thou run out to 1-1/2 thou which i thought was the best i was going to achieve, slowly slowly is the best way and keep resetting the fan blades as that affects the whole thing.

Can anyone help with the routing of the speedo cable on a RHD car, not too sure how it gets past the exhausts to the speedo.

My cable goes through the grommet below the passengers side brace. IT is close to the header but I wrapped it with some heat shield and tied it down with some zip ties. Hopefully the photo will work, it's been a while since I posted one up.

that's where is ended up routing it, will check again to see if i need to fit heat sleeving.
