i was very lucky to pick up a genuine GT40 magnesium manifold with twin water oiutlets for my car but trying to find the original throttle linkage was a nightmare, as was the period fuel harness.
At what time did Ford start painting there SMF's blue?

Red Race Tiger, while brad said IDF, in my earlier post i was said that the carbs on the DD setups use either IDA or IDF.
As for your manifold which manufacturer is yours? Is it one of the ones that has the carbs staggered? If so i assume that would require a bit of extra cutting on the scuttle... will you be bracing it? Are you going to be holding the bonnet with pins?
as for block colour on the Tigers, Ron Fraser did some reserach into this:
All 260 and 289 engines were painted black through the 1965 model
year; in Aug 1965, the 1966 model year, Ford changed the color of the
engines to blue. The B19KC engine group crosses both model years. The
spring build was in the 1965 model year and painted black. The fall build
was in the 1966 model year and painted blue.
The B19KC group of engines is the only group that can be a problem
to determine its color. The early B19KC engines are black, the later B19KC engines are blue.
TBON states Black for the block color.
Bob Mannel's Book states Satin (semi-gloss) Black.
So if you are running a 6 bolt 289 its gogin to be blue.. 5 bolt 260 or 289 likely to be black.
