Mal these are the "tri Y" headers that were available for the Tigers as part of the LAT options. They offer better low down torque than the 4 branch LAT setup, they also require a special motor mount on the LHS IIRC and special collector pipes.

These have been repro'ed a few times, there is a guy in Canada, Grant, who had the original tooling and made some repros of the headers, mount and also the collector pipes you need for these.. this is just the headers, so lots of other bits required....

Tri Y's were available for other cars, cobra, galaxy mustang etc.. all the same headers, with different casting names and pipes to suit the various applications.

When I first bought the tiger i tried to search on the internet for a cast performance manifolds for the Tiger and came up blank. So I was a little suprised when i found these on ebay.
They are pricey though and not really complete if you need the collectors and engine mount. With my GT40P heads they would not work without modifying the ports. But they maybe what someone else is after.

As a side note, the seller is asking for big $ and is the same seller asking almost $1500 for the Tiger gauges... if anyone was interested in a setup of the Tri Y's i have grants ocntact details and am happy to pass them on.

If you just wanted a set of Tri-Y's and didnt fuss over the "TIGER" casting name i think there is someone repro'ing the COBRA ones.

For those interested, another set of the Tri-Y's has come up for sale, this time with the collectors.. though to be honest they look a lot rougher/home made than others i have seen (that said.. doesnt mean they aren't original.. somone may have been having a bad day or learning on the job?)

Also MUCH cheaper than the previous set.

If the collectors are professionally built (which I'm tipping their not), the finish has a bit to be desired. The top collector looks like it would flow better. A much better sale price as well (US$1500 is a tiny bit steep).

I have a query regarding these headers... Did they sell them complete with collectors or just the headers only? I remember seeing a picture some where which showed the headers complete with collectors as well.

At a guess, I think the top collector is original and the lower set home made. The welding on the top set is far better than the other.

That may well be the case... From what I can remember the collector pipes had tighter radius bends (It's been a while though).

When they sold the set originally they came as a kit with the headers, collectors and the special LAT motor mount. They were different side to side to get clearence. You might be right on the top one being original, but the orignal one i had seen looked to have a much straighter pipe after they merged, the other collector was roughly the shape of the ones shown.. perhaps someone had to make the other as they didnt have the LAT mount to get the appropriate clearence?

I think in both cases the original ones i saw were more equal in collector length from the headers... that said.. they were not exactly punched out in large numbers and probably made in small batches.

Also makes me think that the odd pipe in the other set was done to get around not having the LAT mount.

They are the ones that I remember. All the pieces you need to install them correctly on a Tiger... Now that would be worth considering for the asking price.
