Supercharged engine

Post by V8 burble » Mon Apr 25, 2011 10:56 pm

Is this bigbob's spare engine?

Do you think he will need to modify the bonnet?

Something tells me the bonnet is not the only thing that needs modifying... best to give it to Alpine owner. :P

There was a red Tiger that turned up at the National meet many years ago, with a similar engine fitted. It had a large perspex box on the bonnet to cover the supercharger. The car has never been seen or heard of since. Somewhere I have an old photo of it.

Looking at "bigbob"s "Some more old favourites"

They're positively conservative by comparison.

Is the second tiger. the race car, the ex-julian balme HSC55 replica car that was raced in the Uk in the late 80's early 90's?

I'm sure i remember reading about his cars in old C&S mags. Wonder where the car is today?

As for the red car with the perspex hood... um.. each to their own...?

Bob. I've cropped your image and Martin I edited out your echo of the other two pics Bob posted. That's quite an old pic of the supercharged Tiger a machine I haven't seen during my time at the Club. Anyone know if it is around and rigged that way still?

Yep, 'Space Cadet's' race car survives but it hasn't been in action for a good few years. If you are browsing this Jules, we'd all be chuffed to see it dusted off and at a show sometime!!!

...same here, it was actually one of the earlier "inspirations" that made me want a Tiger. So I would certainly relish the opportunity to see it out and about :D

Thanks for the extra pics Bob, I can just see flared wheel arches and large bulges in bonnets coming back into fashion....
