Non-Tiger: Real Ale

Post by V8 burble » Thu Apr 21, 2011 6:25 pm

As mentioned in the previous thread, Dorset is an excellent area for good pubs selling Real Ale. There were plenty of quality boozers all within a few miles of Swanage, as the Tiger Walking Group can testify.

For those of you who are already suffering from withdrawal symptoms and have no decent beer locally, you can do a lot worse than pop down to your Aldi supermarket.

Aldi currently has a mixed case of 12 bottles of Hall & Woodhouse's Badger ales at £15.99.
There are 3 bottles of:
England's Gold (4.6%)
Fursty Ferret (4.4%)
Long Days (4.5%)
Tanglefoot (5.0%)

I am gradually working my way through the selection box and the results so far are very favourable, so please excuse my typing!

Aldi also regularly stock Bateman's Combined Harvest (4.7%) which is a lovely drop.

All you Tiger lager louts can ignore this thread.

Anyone would think the STOC is a drinking club with a driving habit... . It doesn't change from country to country.

If we're recommending beers, I will do so for Badger Golden Champion which is available at the CO-OP.
A very nice drink for a warm Summer's evening.

BTW. Shouldn't this thread be in Tech Tips? :D
