Hi All,

The fitting kit is a variation Dales kit...I bought Dale kit(not bad it work's) and thought it could be better so I improved on the radiator clearance, rack height to keep arms straighter...the rack used is a pre 71' midget or sprite with MGB arms..I use Ldv200 LHT trackrod ends(smaller joint gives you more clearance against the disc's)

The kit includes 2x ally mounting blocks + 2x RHT to LHT adjusters..£220. 8)

Sounds very tempting. Can the MGB steering arms from any year be used? All of this is bolt-on?

Thanks, Robin.

The grade is of ally 6061..Gary.

Any year MGB for the arms...it's almost bolt on, MGB arms need hole enlarging, if RHD car the bar between uj's on the column needs turning upside down so the pinch bolt is at the top so it does'nt hit the ally water elbow..all instructions are sent with the kit.. :|

Can anyone suggest where's the best place to get fully re-built "quality" early midget rack's??

I say "Quality" as apposed to those that have had a quick wash off and been painted black and sold as re-coned?

Always a worry and not something i'd want to scrimp on:?

many thanks.... :D

The kit looks like Dales, i assume the brackets mounting the rack are that little bit taller (deeper) to move the rack further foward and slightly higher?

Have you got any meansurements in the difference of turning circle from stock vs the new rack? Also, the Dale kit reduces the ackerman issue but does not completely solve it, does your reduce it further?

Michael..
The ackerman angle problem cannot be fully resolved with the rack on the front of cradle owing to the crescent shape...the rack is simply to far forwards...+ the other problem is the bottom arm pivot(fulcrums) are not in alinement with the track so the centre line between the two would mean the rack would need to be shorter and longer on the track rods...optimum would be 90degrees to the steering arms but that's not going to anytime soon...so this is the best of a bad job....

so no I've not taken any turning circle measurement..and i'm not going to!!

if you want a car with no issues buy a golf..
