Strange Colour codes

Post by bernd_st » Sun Dec 06, 2009 6:10 pm

Here is one for the specialists. Just bought a colour scheme chart for a 64 Tiger and there are several "strange" colours for me listed:

- Mediterranean Blue with black upholstery (metallic)
- Jet Black with red or tan upholstery
- British racing green with black upholstery

Never heard or seen this colours/combinations. Can anybody confirm those were originally available for the MkI Tiger ?

P.S. The colour chart has the ref. # 1172/H and lists Alpine, Rapier & Tiger range

Hi,

Going by the B.O.N, the list that you have is close. There was a Mediterranean Blue (non-metallic) with black or blue interior, there was no Jet Black (Embassy black with black, red or tan interior) and Forest Green (Rootes BRG) - not sure of interior colours. It is interesting to know that Rootes offered five metallic colours (Quartz blue, Light green, Autumn Gold, Turquoise Blue and Gunmetal).

Hope this is helpful.

Regards, Robin.
