Great news!!

Goodwood have invited the "No8" LM Tiger to run in the blue ribbon Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy Celebration- the 'TT' in the upcoming Revival meeting.. It is expected that the car will be co-driven by Vernon "Vern" Schuppan and STOC's Chris Beighton...awaiting confirmation of that.

Vern first raced the 8 car in 2008 in company with Tony Eckford when they finished 19th out of a 30 car grid. Vern among many racing achievements won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1983.

The 8 car driven by Chris & Tony at the Silverstone Classic last month, got a 9th place in the 2 driver one hour Gentlemen Drivers Race fro Pre 66 GT cars (oppo at Goodwood). They were running at 4th on the driver change from a 50+ grid. Info here: http://www.tsl-timing.com/special/2010/102956.pdf

The car looks very capable of a top ten result!!

Great news to hear the LM Tiger is on the way there.

I spoke to Vern about the LM Tiger drive at the 08 revival, (this was early in 2009 when he was in Melbourne) he was saying that when he first drove it on the test day it was like the thing wanted to head straight on in all the corners. He said that eventually a lot of castor was dialed into the front and made it much nicer (and quiciker)

Hopefully they can get a top 10 result (and that might prompt a few more invites.. after all.. its rarer than a 250GTO and Daytona cobra!) and hopefully run without trouble.

Tony T... hope you are there taking lots of pics.. and maybe we can get some video to! fingers crossed from down under!

Graham.. on a side note.. had emailed you about 2 weeks back bit not heard from you.

GYU 618C will be on the Lavant Bank parking Saturday and Sunday, putting all the other classics in the shade. Leaves me with 2 weekends to take the bumpers off and put the cage in ready for Donington!

Hopefully see some of you there.

Good to hear the car is going to be running in the TT, hopefully it will be reliable and fast for this special event. Wasnt Crhis Beighton going to be the 2nd driver?

Yes Michael but a diary clash puts Tony in the 2nd slot. I hear they got down to a bit less than 1.34. that would place them around 10th/12th at the finish. They need to get into 1.31's to make the top three.

Bit of a push for the '8' car but everything is crossed here!
