i have just collected wro573e i purchased it from a great lady called gill who was very attached to it.it was left to her by her late farther in the early 90s.jack waters who bought it new in 1967 he was the owner of w waters and sons ltd in hatfield ,the car has been painted once in 1981 but apart from the it is as it left the factory.although in very good usable condition it will be undergoing full restoration in the future.i will post pics in due course,

Nice one Gary, great to see another genuine car back in the owner's club. Would be nice to see some pics before and after the resto, in the meantime pic below from the STOC showing the four UK MKII cars;

thanks tony,i will sort some pics out got pc probs at the moment,the pic of my car was the one in cats whiskers no 37 ,i would like a copy of it if anyone has 1,its going to be a task to restore it ,and at the same time keep it as original as i can,but i know just the man for the job,

What a great purchase. Was it in running condition? Do you have any front and side views? The body looks like it is in fairly good condition from your picture. Keep us informed on it progress.

yes i took it home charged the battery fired up 1st go ,full tank of fuel as well ,i gave it a good clean looks loads better now ,i cant get decent pics at the moment ,but will as soon as i get it out i will ,at easter i am going to go over it, mot it use it a bit then i am going to send it to brian postle for restoration as he made a lovely job of my mk1,

In classic and sports car magazine June 2000 there was an article on tigers that featured your newly acquired car. Did you acquire it from Gill Watt-Smyrk? her son wil be dissapointed.. in the article it sounded like it was going to be passed on to her kids.

yes i have the article,and yes i bought it off gill.and it was with her son jacks blessing ,the car was starting to deteriorate being stored ,gill was very attached to the car and had fond memories of trips she made with her late father also named jack .i have cleaned the car up nice and looks quite good,

Hi Gary, got yourself a very rare Tiger there as there were less than a handfull of official RHD Tigers sold outide of the Met. Police. They all went to Major Rootes Dealers and Jack Waters was one of them. For most of it's life Jack kept the car at Waters Hatfield showroom.
