Aluminum cylinder heads

Post by H, Sunny 65 » Mon Jun 09, 2008 11:39 pm

Hi can anyone tell me, if they know of any perfomance aluminum cylinder heads, that would be a straight swap and fit the 260? i am told the edelbrock perfomer heads, have valve to cylinder wall interference issues, due to the smaller bore size of the 260 to the 289, so if there are others out there that work on the 260, please let me know. I also have some gt 40 heads off a late 302 5.0L, but this had roller lifters and different rockers, so i dont know if they fit. Or can you tell me, the best improvements for the standard heads. Thanks. H

One of the disadvantages of using typical aftermarket Alu heads (eg Edelbrock etc) is that the chamber volume is usually about 60-65cc which is larger than the 260 heads, therefore lower compression ratio.
