Rear axle outer seal change

Hi guys,
I need to replace the rear outer oil seals on the rear axle.
Looking at the manual seems like a straight forward job, once the hubs are removed!
The question is, it will be possible to create a puller in to simulate the tool shown in the manual, but how likely is it that the hubs will split from the half shaft taper with a puller? Or will it need the hassle of removing the complete shaft and using an hydraulic press.
