I'd rather keep my 260 cu-in engine standard, so my question is, where can I buy another straight swap engine with a bit more power?

Hi Shindles, the simple answer is that you can only get another 260 that has been worked on or an early 5 bolt 289 as the 5 bolt bell housing is the problem. The later 289/302 have 6 bolt bell housings and you would require a another bell housing to match up to gearbox.
An early 5 bolt 289 is not that easy to find and expensive.

I sold my old 260 to a local man who has totally rebuilt it & upgraded it to about 250-300 bhp. Last time I heard he was hoping to sell it. Don't know price, but wont be cheap.
