I have a "Tiger" with no VIN tag , but with SAL 375119 body tag (NOT JAL).
Is this possible ? I have worked on / stored this car since 1980 . It has a
cloth folding sunroof and some other strange things I have not seen on any
other Tigers. The thing that has my totally confused is the title has VIN #
B9470003 . I know what is written about this VIN , I am not sure what I have. This car had 1972 New York plates on when I found it . Any ideas
anyone?

You seem to have an Alpine Ford ' AF' development Tiger built up by Jensen Motors from an SIV Alpine GT with a likely May '63 d.o.b.
It is known Jensen used 3 GT's - 375115, 375116, 375117 as a part of the development programme. Looks like 375119 needs to be added to the list.
Of these, SAL 375115 belongs to B9470010 - AF6, incidentally a Tiger I have owned for 20 years. Next to it in the garage is B9470002 - AF4 (SAL 350302).
Your Tiger is tied in there somehow but I cannot hazard where presently.
It should have had a VIN# tag (chassis plate). Does the scuttle top still show the rivet holes? This Tiger must have been shipped over to Canada / USA?
soon after it was built, just like B9470003 which, as you know, is believed to have become Shelby's '45B' race car.
Can you post some images here or email a bunch to - stoc@sunbeamtiger.co.uk
