Cheeky beggar!!
...anyway, mine doesn't have the side stripes.
Wouldn't surprise me if the auction gets pulled before the finish, that seems to happen a lot on eBay at present. Be interesting see what it goes for

On the CAT site it has 2 pages of comment, the general trend is how an origional owner could neglect it enough to allow salt water up to the window line.

Wow, I hadn't realised the extent of the rust damage. Looking closer at the pics, I doubt the shell would stay in one piece when 'pulled' onto a flatbed/trailer. You can see the waterline...
Reminds me back in 1988 when I travelled all the way to Portsmouth to look at a restoration project and when the car was jacked up for me to have a closer look at the rust underneath, the chassis folded in the middle.

There a bit of conversation about it on the FaceBook site. General consensus is yes it can be rebuilt but I couldnt help suggesting the TAC guys could advise on what should/shouldnt be done to keep it authentic, before it goes under the angle grinder. Alas, lack of input as I thought.

At least we know now what a red mk2 LHD, with black roof, is worth. Might be less if its missing the side stripes though!
