STOC visit to Schloss Dyck, Jüchen, Germany. 3rd/4th August
Posted: Sat Aug 24, 2013 2:43 pm
Earlier this month a few took a trip out to the Schloss Dyck, situated at Jüchen in Germany. Many will think what is and why this event, but just think of Goodwood Revival in the very early years. A smaller, less crowded affair to watch some beautiful period machinery in a fine country setting. Schloss Dyck castle itself has history dating back to the 11th century, a very fine and fitting location.

A relatively short trip into Europe basting in temperatures of 39 degrees celsius when we arrived from the UK, it proved a real mini-test for the 50th tour to Cannes next year but it was also an opportunity to make friends with fellow minded ‘Sunbeam’ enthusiasts from Switzerland, Germany and beyond.....
In the group tour we had, 21 Tigers, 8 Alpines, 2 Gilberns, 1 XK120 and a few moderns for Tiger owners also joining us. A great turnout from all over Europe!!
A few pics selected, and more can be found on my online album, Link Here
Arriving for the boat at Hull,

Lunch stop ay Huy, Belgium.

A handful of Tiger related pics;

That misfire still there somewhere!!!

A few more random non-Tiger related shots;

An original Junker plane in flight, not a sight you see in the UK!

A very very original low mileage 289 Cobra!!

Finally the beautiful Schloss Dyck Castle itself;

Can’t wait to meet more friendly European Sunbeam owners in Europe for the 50th celebrations next year
Thanks of course to Marie Loxston and Markus Steininger for helping this STOC event take part, a full report coming in CATS Whiskers.
