How much does colour affect value

Apologies if I offend any purists but does a non-standard colour significantly affect the value do you think?
I'm not talking about anything lary, I quite fancy that metallic grey you sometimes see e-types in but if it knocks £5k off the value I'll stick to red!
Cheers

its your car paint it what colour you like .everyone starts off wanting everything as it left the factory .it didnt work then and still dosnt .i think if you used a daft colour it would limit your market .but some new modern colours look great .
go for it

You could paint it Rootes colour 130 Gunmetal Metallic Grey as it was availible at the end of Alpine SV Tiger MK1A production?

mine started life sky blue but the original owner changed it to silver when it was restored. I really like it like this and wouldn't go back to blue.

Ash, that's a nice idea to use a pukkah rootes colour - now, if I could just find a picture of one in that colour....

Nice tiger in gunmetal grey. Maybe a modern colour tho?
This is a SV Alpine badged as a Tiger and looks to be the correct gunmetal grey. Great with red interior!

The average age of Tiger owners is probably 50 to 55 years old so we're all going blind, losing our marbles and have probably never seen a gunmetal grey Tiger before so just use a grey you like and no-one will care or be any the wiser.

When you are a old fart driving a red car is problematic. Resale red as we used to call it in my other wheeled hobbies.
A MK2 owner is probably the real guy painted into a corner possibly stuck with Carnival orange I mean red and those vinyl stripes.
Of course it would be easier if painting cars were less expensive.
There used to be a crazy colonist, Earl Shieb. "I will paint any ca any color for 29.95," Then it went to 39.95 then 69.95........
Hey if anyone is in Hull and can send me a round Tiger sticker about 3'' or the size of the CAT club one I will paypay you some pesos lira or lbs.
