US Tiger Auction Results

Post by gvickery » Sun Jan 27, 2013 5:33 pm

Lifted from the C.A.T. Forum, for a Sunday afternoon read. http://catmbr.org/

The Mecum auction produced some surprising results. Six Tigers were up for auction this week. Four of them sold. I was pleasantly surprised to see the results. The prices could be indicative of a rise in collector car prices in general, or more specifically the continued interest in Tigers. Here is a breakdown of the results with links to the car:

K167: Sold @ $65,000 (£41,000)
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detai ... artRow=241

T139: No Sale @ $54,000 (£34,000)
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detai ... artRow=121

F205: Sold @ $59,000 (£37,000)
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detai ... artRow=201

F261: No Sale @ $110,000 (£70,000)
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detai ... artRow=261

S32.1: Sold @ $70,000 (£44,000)
1965 Tiger…no link

S196: Alpine / 'Tiger' Sold @ 41,000 (£26,000)

Based upon these results you might want to reconsider valuations for insurance purposes.

Wonder why F261 went for so much more?

It's the tattiest of the cars. Is that why...originality?

Not those wheels surely?

Tony, over to you. :D

Martin. The engine bay shot showing lack of paint on Jensen's 'top hats'- points to an originality sale, never mind all the 'original' oil and road grime!!

I see.

So what you're saying is that the buyer was picking up good vibrations and the Tiger was giving him excitations?
