Did anyone see that programme tonight (friday) with James Martin and Jackie stewart. Was that Jim Clarke sitting in an Alpine or Tiger I had a glimpse off?
Good spot, I missed the first 20 mins but thought the coverage of Jackie Stewart lifestyle at the time of his peak was spot-on. Clearly the BBC researchers did their homework. I'd watch it again, but spoilt by Martin who I thought also had very poor interviewing skills.
Perhaps being the BBC we could have a closer look at that Tiger/Alpine 'moment' on the iPlayer

Must admit I didn't notice the Tiger/Alpine, will take a look on the i-player.
James Martin was such a pretentious prat, poncing around with a replica of James Hunt's helmet - with his name on the sides and when the fat git turned up dressed as Jackie Stewart I almost split my sides laughing. I was surprised he managed to squeze into the car!
I thought Patrick Stewart was superb on Thursdays show with Stirling Moss. Loved the bit about the Vanwall being better than the Enterprise.
Lou.

The Moss programme reminded me of my first Goodwood FOS.
I walked throught the bottom gate and looked left to see a Vanwall with Sterling Moss stood next to it, talking to Johnny Herbert.
It totally did my head in.
That was back in the days when not that many people went, there was lots of room, the hay bales were only a few feet from the track, drivers walked around like joe public looking at the cars between runs, most of the paddock was grass and you bumped into people like Murray Walker, not the crazy thing that it has become where anyone famous would probably get mobbed.
I got Johnny Herberts autograph later in the day because he was Lisa's favourite F1 driver.
We got home and the guy I went with's girlfriend asked him why she didnt deserve Johnny's autograph too.
Oh how he grovelled.

Ok, enough of memory lane.
