After I saw that, I recognised that the Tiger that flipped over was driven by Bill Withey, I bought my Tiger off him

Simon

Tigers won everything at the Manx Classic for several years in the '90s until the organisers changed the rules (wheels and brakes) which led to Team Tiger quitting the Classic.

Earlier forum posts: http://sunbeamtiger.co.uk/forum/viewtop ... light=manx

Many team members at the time such as David Smallridge, Jackie Cochrane and Simon James then concentrated on mainland circuit racing - and still do via the AMOC Intermarque series and other Championships. In fact several videos were produced by the 'Duke' outfit.

I've dug out an article from a Cats Whiskers back in the day first written by Mick Walsh the Executive Editor of the Classic&sportscar magazine, who back then ran a Tiger and was a member of the Club!!

Thanks Graham, very interseting. I recognise the team photo, it was on Classic and sports car I think. Still got it somewhere from years ago.

Just worked out that it was Tony that posted it onto youtube. Nice.

Funny enough that Markus was mentioned in the early article. Still remember when he said that he'll go to Manx. Those were the days even though he wasn't very competitve at that time. However he returned in 2000 with me as the crew and we finished first in 4 out of 5 races. Jackie wasn't there then  ...
