"TIGER50" - MONTE TOUR

1st News Bulletin just released. http://www.sunbeamtiger.co.uk/Galleries ... in1web.pdf

Great demand from Club members and the international Tiger community soon sold out our first plan to cap entries at 35 crews, so we have increased the max number of entries / crews to 50.
50 is the absolute maximum. So if you want to book one of the remaining places please contact the Club.

Post by gvickery » Fri Jan 11, 2013 3:36 pm

"TIGER 50" Bookings Update

Normandy & Loire Tours now sold out.

Le Mans Classic event can still accommodate 2 couples (or 4 singles). Any Tiger enthusiast can still join the fun - tickets, track laps, club stand etc but after these two rooms are taken we will struggle to find more!

STOC International Rally in 'Shakespeare Country' at Ettington Chase Hotel filling up nicely - keep the bookings coming in. Will post a list of entries.

Monte Tour now has 40 crews booked in, including entries from Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, Bermuda, USA, with Tigers being brought to England from as far as NZ. We shall keep the Monte Tour open for another month or until we hit the max of 50 crews.

Revival, Spa Francorchamps, Nurburgring trips are nor capped but get in touch with the Club if you would like to join our organised events.

With the recent announcement of the dates for Le Mans Classic which is now on the 4th to 6th July 2014, we had received a cancellation, so there are 2 double rooms avaliable at £395 per person for the Le Mans Classic part of Tiger 50.

Please contact me ASAP to book your places.

ASE Rally Monitor - iphone trip meter app

Post by pushrod » Sun May 19, 2013 8:02 pm

A possible alternative and cheap Tripmeter for those of us who are planning to take part on the Tiger 50 Monte Tour is the ASE Rally Monitor App for i-phones.

Not sure as yet how good it is but it's worth a try at £3.50. I don't know if it's available for other android phones or the ipad, ipad would be easier for the navigator to read.

Goodwood Revival 2014

Post by gvickery » Mon Oct 21, 2013 4:08 pm

**GOODWOOD REVIVAL 2014 Dates** 12-14 September (provisional)

With the F1 calendar now pretty well fixed I can't see these dates changing.

(Watch): http://www.goodwood.co.uk/revival/about/about.aspx
(Read): http://www.sunbeamtiger.co.uk/Tiger50/Tiger50p8.pdf

I just need to remind anyone planning on coming to The Revival or only giving it a bit of thought, PLEASE bare in mind hotels / B&B's/ hostels/ camp sites - you name it, within 20-30 miles of Goodwood are ALREADY BOOKED.

Today I went to make a reservation for STOC members coming from NZ at my local Ramada - 40 miles north of the circuit and it is full NOW.

The Club can help but cannot magic up accommodation. I say this to any member intending on coming down for more than 1 day and is wanting an overnight stop TO BOOK IT NOW.

If you book in the neighborhood of Guildford / Cobham, Surrey us locals will set off each day at 6.30 am. to be in the Classic car parking before 8.00 in time for the 'Dawn Patrol' WW2 Aircraft display and breakfast.

Anyone needing guidance on hotels in Surrey drop me a line

The Travelodge at Ashford Kent also has reduced prices for those wishing to stay close to the Eurotunnel prior to the Tiger 50 Monte trip on Friday 29th Sept. Some of us have already booked - see you in the pub!

For members proposing to take part in most of Tiger 50 events, it may be worth checking your classic insurance mileage limit. 3000 miles could be easily exceeded. I've just renewed & increased mileage to 5000 for a small charge.

As I have to travel a bit further than many I asked that my mileage be increased to 6000, only to be told that 5K is the maximum allowed.

Guess I'll be doing the Stelvio in reverse!

"TIGER50" - MONTE TOUR

Entries for the Monte Tour CLOSE this week 17th January 2014. Entry has been left open into the new year because of a number of members hoping to come along still. BUT hotel and restaurant reservations are being finalised now and we won't be able to keep adding on folk after we're done.

So for those who are still thinking about it ----- jump now!!

Can't do / say more.
