TIGER 50

Post by gvickery » Tue Apr 17, 2012 9:54 am

"TIGER 50"

To begin to get the Tiger community ready for the 50th Anniversary of the launch of the Sunbeam Tiger, the Club will publish in the next few days a brochure of the plans we are putting in place for 2014.

The 40 page A4 colour brochure will be sent to all members of the Club by this month end and the main website will be loaded with the info and booking forms in early May. The events planned include a three part tour in France focussing on the Le Mans Classic, a 3 day International Rally in the heart of England and an 8 day / 8 night 'Monte' Tour - a homage to the 64 Geneva and 65 Monte Carlo Rallys..... and much more.

The events will be open to the world wide Tiger community.

Sounds very exciting. :D

I just hope my car is back in one piece by then and I can afford to put petrol in the tank.

Alternatively, if anyone needs a good navigator..........

I hope to be going on the tour in my Tiger, but solo, so a navigator place will be available. Thinking of swapping a 500 Hp 302 for 1600 diesel to reduce fuel costs. Will be playing a V8 sound track loud on the hi-fi to compensate.

For me, the 50th 'TIGER 50' tour will be an opportunity to see many more members/Tigers/Sunbeam owners on the international scene. Perhaps it will also see 'first timers' in the UK taking their Tigers to the continent 8)

Jay. I'm glad you enjoyed getting the TIGER 50 programme. As they say "it has something for everyone".
I am hoping it has had the same effect on all of the members of the Club!!

Hi Graham,

everything worked out fine and my registration is sent to the club.
Also the prepayment is done and my wife and me can´t wait for 2014.

But we will do first our german thing in 2012 ! In June we will drive a rallye in the Alpes and at the weekend of the German Oldtimer Grand Prix the German Club will have its annual meeting near the Nürburgring.

The meeeting is open for guests ! So if anyone like to do a drive at the river Mosel, take a look at the Nürburgring event and do a run at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife let me know. The date is August 9th till 12th.

Hope to see some of you

Heiko

Looks like with a following wind you will be done with time to spare Brad!

Be good to have an 'unveiling' or 'reveal' as our US cousins put it, at the TIGER 50 National.

I'm not up to speed right now but I hear we already have 20 entries for the 'Monte Tour'!

TIGER 50 - 2014 Celebrations

The Club is very pleased with the strong interest shown by members (and others) in the various parts of the Tiger 50 programme.

A News update will be sent out via Webmail shortly but I need to let members know that places in some events are limited e.g. The Monte Tour is already two thirds sold.

"To avoid disappointment" I would urge members who are thinking about things to whip off their applications soonest!!

"TIGER50" - MONTE TOUR

Are you looking for a co-driver before booking into The Monte Tour, or alternatively are you wanting to join the Monte Tour as a co-driver with another member?

If you are, don't hesitate to contact the Club so that we may suggest some 'matching up' ideas!!
