The vendor admits in the selling particulars to it being "restored with later series 5 shell". Its a LRX car imported from the States 10+ years ago. Be best to check out the factory numbers of all the major components.

IIRC, it was £36K not too long ago but then it in a more disassembled condition.
As it becomes more complete the price goes up so it may be more when finished.

nice looking car though .so if a reshell is 40k whats a real one worth ?

I'm amazed....

At one stage some posted members were advocating re-shells? now your all knocking this car as an easy target.

The vendor has acknowlaged that it's a "RESHELL" what more car he/they do??

It is clearly described as such and anyone intrested in buying it clearly know's the score. It's a Tiger MK2 with an Alpine 5 body, end of.

If anyone with an intrest is happy to pay that amount for what is clearly a well presented specimen be it genuine or a re-shell then that's for them to do so.

Why is there this persistant stone throwing element within this club? It's enough to put any future potential owner of either a genuine Jenson built or other completely off owning a Tiger.

Iv'e said it before, no Alpine .....no Tiger

It's not Trigger's broom if it's only had a new shell.
He has been honest about it's pedigree.

I'm not sure what you mean by "you're all" though Paul.

I think its as it states a 'reshelled Tiger'. Not an Alpine V8 and I think it should be recognised as such in a TAC, NOT just a TAC failure. That is assuming its been done to an as yet to be known certain standard.

This car is exactly why i was advocating a "Reshelled" catagory within this club and Tiger ownership in general.

This vendor/owner is clearly stating that, no deception there?

So as long as it carries a genuine Vin, Matching Jal et all it's a reshelled Tiger with a bodychange. Simple's

So where's the harm in that? The information is already out there.

Wouldn't be suprised to see it included into the Alger Alley at some point though......

Any other marque and no body would bat an eyelid.

It will only find it's way into Alger Alley if at some point in it's future, someone tries to pass it off as a Jensen shelled MK2.

As I've said previously, I have no issue with reshells as long as it is declared to a potential buyer.
The chap or chapess who owns this has done eveything right which is admirable tbh.

I do get what you mean about the stone throwing though.

Stone throwing....

It's all a bit hush hush and elite'ist if you ask me.

Mine's a "REAL" car, so that give's me the right to poke fun at them attitude, Iv'e seen it within other cars club's.

It begin's to grind after a while.

This sounds awfully like a previous post which most of us thought was done and dusted. I'm staying clear of this one, but you guys knock yourselves out.

As i've said before, a British car in Britain.

We dont need the TAC unless it allows a catagory for a car such as this, a reshelled Tiger is still a Tiger.

If others wish to ally themselves with the U S tac system? crack on with that.....but you wont stop this. So as such is it not better to keep it in check?

This seller has done ALL that is required of him and regardless of what any of us think this car WILL find a home.

We can either accept it for what it is a RESHELL or persist in being Ostridges.

The sooner we can allow these well built rebuilt cars some sort of platform the better so that this issue can finally be put to bed.

It's not going to go away anytime soon is it.....
