Really!! You wonder why posts keep being removed with rubbish like this. Get the chip off your shoulder and contribute something credible or not at all! You're just moving from one person to the next. International members are here to stay whether you like it or not. Beyond a Joke, sorry Graham and Tony we're all tired of this.

The answer to making sure you do not have an Alger is to go and buy an Alpine and stick a V8 in it.

Without the recognition of reshells, there are Tigers and to some, fraudulent Tigers or Algers.

If there is a recognition then you have Tigers and Reshells

I think the new thoughts on Reshells has come to its customary mud slinging conclusion. Time to sign off again until something new comes along to move this discusion forward.

Here's a question.

If a Tiger is reshelled, should the JAL be fitted to the replacement shell?

No. Started off with an SAL and should not be removed. After all, once an Alpine always an Alpine.

I was thinking more along the lines of where it was built. The shell didn't go down the Jensen line therefore......

Bit like putting an Morgan badge on an MG.

Perhaps someone could apply for a protected geographical indication status for them. :D

The SAL proves it was built elsewhere anyway. Bit late for protected status.

Oh please.....

Sal? Jal? whatever..... If there never was such a thing as an Sunbeam Alpine designed by Kenneth Howes trust me there never would be such a thing as the Sunbeam Tiger.............why oh why cannot that be accepted?

Where does the "NO NO" posse think thier Tiger's came from? a Cobra? Mustang? Pluto??

Go out into your garages and look? It's an factory sanctioned Alpine with a SMF V8, no more, no less......... Doesn't make the car any less valuable does it?

Why is there this persistant denial of what is so plainly obvious?

As for all you boy's and girls's you continue to wear them blinkers.....i see the car for what it is.

A factory sanctioned Alpine V8 conversion. No more, no less

As with all debates and conversations, there will be differing ideas and opinions of what is right and wrong or correct and incorrect if you like.

I have mine and I am comfortable with accepting everyone else's including yours.
Perhaps you should show the same courtesy?

Martin,

Yes of course i will offer you the courtesy, if you see the Tiger as anything more than a factory sanctioned Alpine modified to fit a SMF then that's a good one, carry on.

Me however? i'm more realistic. No self canceling blinkers on an Alpine.....sorry Tiger.

Spellings getting better though.....
