Bid then retracted it?
Dreadful....truely shocking behaviour, who would do such a thing.

Sad to think that this rotten remain has some race history, how could it have possibly got this bad? Where has it been?
I have studied the photo's of this car on ebay and it really is sad, it's back is broken and any steel is now pure corroded rust.
No doubt someone will save it, Alger or not a rust free shell will save this car.
I'd take it on but iv'e enough on my plate.
Would be good to see some pic's from the STOC archive if there are any??

That is a real shame considering it has some racing history. At least it won't be forgotten. The Alpine body would come in very handy... as long as it is done properly.

I've seen that shell, and it's a nice one. As you say Bob, shame about the lack of space. And time. And money...

I'm like a kid in a sweet shop
Ebay item 170726237479, i bought this shell for the 100% rust free panels that are on it for £50 but in reallity it's way too good to dismantle.
Maybe at the time there was another reason that i wasn't aware of.
All Tiger's derived from Alpine's...
This shell is still as is and is available to the buyer of the "WORST TIGER"
Send me an IM and i will gladly do what i can to help out.

Introducing
Theo Sibley the racing Granny who ran GEL 264D at Silverstone in July 1968....Ist in a 5 lap MCC Handicap race!!
http://www.sunbeamtiger.co.uk/Galleries ... rum/ts.pdf
I can't locate right now the subsequent article I wrote about Theo but here she is in action with B9473290 HRO giving GEL 264D its "15 minutes of fame".
With thanks to Martin Pester (STOC Archivist) for surfacing the first photo and to Nigel Tipping for tracking down Theo's family back then.

Hello
I cant actually believe that there is so much interest in this car. The car belongs to my Father, who has had it for many many years, as you can tell.
I would like to obtain the photo of the car racing at Silverstone to give to my Father as a memory. Can someone please help
Thanks very much
Sian

Hi Graham,
If you could post the article, I'd be interested in reading it. How long was her racing career? Judging by your '15 minutes of fame' comment, it wasn't too long or was it just referring to her time in the Tiger? In you link, did she wear those shoes while racing?
Regards, Robin.

Sad demise for a "genuine" Tiger which will be no more. It's clear from the pics that the car had suffered some accident damage (nearside) in the past - perhaps that's why it originally came off the road for repair

Ah, but with the fruit included, it's a good candidate for a still life.

is it genuine that tophat looks suspect it is also more rusty than the surroundin metal.if it has race there is a posibility it has been reshelled as most race cars have .not that it matters much as it needs a reshell now
