martin,
you just have to understand that i drove my first sunbeam before i was old enough to legally have driver license. we had to be 16 to have license. i'm now 62. i've driven many alpines and several tigers along with many other marques since then. i remember when tigers sold cheap. they were just another used car at that time and some of them were very rough to say the least. i was at the home of a long time east coast tiger owner last week and i like his comment. tigers were only original one time and that was when they left jenson. just about everything since could be termed a restored car which could mean just about anything if restored before tac ever came into existance here. times change but rust continues. i say do what you want to the cars. i will continue to practice what i preach.
Authenticating a Tiger
Gents,
THIS IS NOW GETTING OFF TOPIC
To avoid loosing the original conversation and discussion over re-shelling, please continue using the earlier debate.
This thread is to remain discussing the subtle visual/techinal changes and differences evident between Alpine/Alger/Tiger bodies - in turn allowing owners/prospective buyers to attempt authenticating a real Tiger.

"i have a question for you dude. do you or have you ever owned a sunbeam? nobody seems to know who you are. i've even asked other michigan tiger owners if they know you and always get the same answer. NO!'
beam,
Maybe no one knows who I am but the same can't be said of you. Everyone in the USA knows you as the bag of wind who makes the same dumb and ridiculous statements about how you converted a MKII Tiger into an Alpine and many reconstituted/rebodied Tigers have passed TAC, blah, blah, blah, .... the list goes on. Now, everyone in the UK knows the same thing. Congratulations!!!!
I will say this slowly so you can comprehend what I say, No one is saying you cannot take an Alpine, add some parts and call it a Tiger. What you can't do is not disclose what you did when you sell the car. To try to pass off the rebodied/reconstituted "Tiger" as factory built is known as fraud. Apparently, in your world, you see no problem with fraud or people being untruthful.

dude234,
Perhaps you didn't understand my earlier post, keep this discussion ON TOPIC and continue with the re-shell thread listed.
Also, any direct personal bickering and public hanging of dirty laundry will not be tolerated. This is a friendly forum for all to use - KEEP IT THAT WAY
Thread locked, if anybody has any valid contribution and wishes to continue a relevant thread on authenticating Tigers, send a pm to mod's.
