So to update, I bought a 3/4 shroud from Sunbeam Spares Company. Looks like original and a lot cheaper than the poor imitation from the states. Engine going back in now and afterwards will be looking at full blocking off horn holes and gap at bottom of rad. If I get time I will look at making up the...

Thanks Mal, there is some debate as to whether they are any good, I'll take your word. Now, is there a problem with using new lifters with an old cam? Im not sure what the cam is but with forged pistons, screw in studs and doubled up springs I guess its pretty warm, which is apparently good with Rho...

lost lifter disk or Rhoads
Got the engine out to change the ring gear. Thought Id poke around and find the rattle on start up. Sure enough I found a sticky lifter. Whilst putting it back together I flippin well dropped the little dished washer and its gone, vanished, hiding, winding me up, annoyed, AHhhhhh. Where can I get an...

I had the same setup but with 13" rims and 60 profile tyres on an Alpine. It handled far better but this was before speed bumps came along. I could only get 3 fingers under the centre of the crucifix. Scooped up a Monk Jack once and then smelled like a barbeque for the next 24 hours! Id go for bigge...

I've got one, no problems, although there is a train of thought saying you don't need one and it also robs power to the wheels. I'm just about to drop the engine out of mine to change a ring gear. Got any tips for dropping the engine without a crane? Did you use the two jack method and where's the b...

Loud crack reversing
Thought I'd busted a fulcrum pin put no! Just checked the suspension and no evidence of broken pins, bolts, ball joints, steering rack, shock towers so I'm stumped. It happened on full lock, reversing and crack! The steering became slighty more vauge than normal. It maybe Im not checking properly or...

Veneering a Dashboard
My dash had unwante holes cut in it and the varnish was cracked. I was going attempt repairing it but when I got out the Nitromors it didnt touch it. Left it for hours, wiped it off but the varnish was still shiney. I decided to strip the veneer and start again. The decision to do this was only made...
