Great, what type of owner are you? Some just want to keep what they have running, some want originality, some want performance or somewhere in between. It's one of the few cars that cover all above to extremes.

Has anyone had any experience in fitting brembos and 406 discs without the spacer. I'm thinking of fitting a calliper adapter plate to the stub axle/ drop spindle and then bolting the caliber to that. This is quite common on upgrades to modern cars. Advantages are bigger discs and MGB steering arms ...

Hi Doug, glad to be of help, enjoy, I Guess it's your 1st Tiger? Graham, Any noise on changing the site to square upto FB. FB is easy but not ideal for some of our conversations. I've just put one on FB about brembos but I'll probably end up tacking it onto the end of the tech tip one that already e...

Hi Doug Sorry a bit late, I don't use this site like I'd want to as FB has kinda taken over. I guess that's your new med blue Tiger. Looks great and a great price! It's true you don't need unleaded additive. The risk is that the exhaust valve will burn up. Best to stick an additive in I've been usin...

Thought I'd post a link which I found very helpful.

http://www.britishcarforum.com/bcf/cont ... per-motors

There are others which seem to be more easily found and with pictures but don't really explain how our 2 speed motors work.

I've not tried tried it in this application but the hole could be filled with chemi metal and then re drilled and tapped. You will need a blind tap- one that has very little taper on the end. You can grind one your self but then good taps are expensive. There's a little more to it but you may have a...

The only thing to be mindful of is the top bit which is impossible to weld until it's cut back.

I think that was Dukes intention. If I thought we could have conversations about things like TAC without being banned I would be right behind that. There are people who like control and lie through their teeth to get what they want so an alternative site brings some balance. On the whole I think you...

Well, I stripped it out and cleaned off old greace. There was no continuity apart from earthe wires so a bit stumped as to why I blew fuses with them disconnected. Tested the motor at all points of rebuild, which worked fine. Refitted and it works.

I think we need to look at the best of it all. FB is good for chit chat but posting pics is essential for all forums. I believe usage has a lot to do with how easy the site is to use. There's not a lot of FB technical on either site but there is quite a lot on the CAT site. Duke looks like he's doin...

Windscreen wipers blowing fuses

My windscreen wipers have packed up and I'm looking for a cause. I have replaced outer winding and body with a spare. Not sure if it's burnt out but I have continuity. I've turned the motor so the wipers have started to move in the hope of seeing if there is change as the self park as it would be wa...

Yes but only to flush out petrol contaminated oil after a power valve failure. It's probably OK but I would advise using valvoline. Eurocarparts on line have good prices and if you sign up to their offers notifications you might find it vey cheap. There is a lot of talk about what oil to use and goo...
