yes, also the le mans cars (ADU 179B / ADU180B) i bought the plate off dvla as the one assigned when i imported the car was ugly (NEG). had to wait over a year for them to auction it off after i requested it, but needless to say, i was the only bidder! i picked 302E because i have a 302 engine in th...

not sure its warm enough for 'topless' driving yet :) but i've certainly been out and about a fair bit the last week with the soft top down, enjoying the lovely weather.

finally got my 'works tribute' numberplate fitted too:

down to 13" steels

ok, i've decided to bite the bullet and re-fit my stock brake discs to allow even smaller wheels. therefore, i'm looking to beg or borrow (or purchase cheaply) a set of 5 steel 13" wheels. tyres are not necessary as i'll be using new ones. these will be used for the london to casablanca rally this n...

yep - i've always used optima batteries. i bought that red top last year to replace a dead yellow top. (it had been left discharged in extremely low temperatures). i had been using a normal battery in the interim (a huge one) but eventually couldn't live without the optima :)

Insurance - Institute of Automotive Engineers Assessment

Hello, This year my insurance company has asked me for an evaluation for a member of the Institute of Automotive Engineers for my agreed value policy. Bit of a pain as there aren't any around me and its not cheap. Are there any STOC members who may be able to assist with this? Many thanks, - Owain.

15 inch wheels, anyone?

hello, i'm hoping to borrow a set of 4 15" wheels from someone for a rally this november. i won't need them until september and can return them end of nov. either with or without tyres - if they have tyres on, i'll remove them, and re-mount and balance them when i return the wheels. alternatively wo...

or a better battery. i always use the optima batteries. they hold their charge for over a year, are completely sealed and are tiny considering their massive cranking power. the yellow top is deep cycle but for my tiger which is used at least once a month and has a cut off switch, i use the cheaper r...

here's a wiring diagram if you don't have it. hopefully you can work out what's wrong with that and a multimeter or circuit tester.

its on the front, the same as the alpine. its much lower and sits in front of the crossmember. this picture isn't great but it shows the tiger crossmember with the anti roll bar installed: http://owainlloyd.no-ip.com:8080/photos/Tiger/Crossmember/slides/CIMG3385.JPG on a related note, if you were to...

glad to hear it :D i may be wrong here but i'm pretty sure the hubs (not that they are relevant) and the stub axle from the series iv and v alpine are the same as the tiger. you then bolt some MGB steering arms to the stub axle (which are cheap) after filing out one of the holes a little and making ...

it should be fairly easy to use the popular mg midget rack and mgb steerings arms with alpine tie rod ends. you'll need to make up some tie rod extenders and brackets to mount the rack onto the crossmember. www.dalesresto.com sells the brackets and extenders for a tiger cross member but you'd still ...

pretty much all the engine bolts (ford) are coarse (UNC) and most of the sunbeam bolts are fine (UNF). the gearbox->bellhousing bolts are no exception and are UNC. most tap/die sets come with a little thread gauge to hold against a thread and find out the TPI (threads per inch) hence indicating UNF ...
