Wanted - Oil breather cap - FOUND

Anyone got a spare oil breather cap they don't need? The one fitted to my car is an open type without the breather tube, consequently I get an oily rocker cover due to the vapour released.

You can get reproduction caps from the States for $20 but I'd prefer an original if possible.

Thanks

Lou.

I'm the 8th owner of my car. I have a file full of documentation from previous owners. Owner 6 contacted the DVLA and as Tim says the earlier details are almost impossible to read. but I do have the full list of previous keepers. Car has always been white as far as I can tell. I'm in the process of ...

Looks like I've got a shoddy one, will keep my eyes peeled for one of the decent ones, could use the shoddy one as target practice for the stamping!

Engine rocker/vale cover decal - what should be on it?

I still have the original "tin" rocker/vale covers on my Tiger engine, however the decal on the left hand cover that has the engine number etc, was missing. I managed to source a replacement from the States which is blank. Obviously the first space is for the engine number, but what is supposed to b...

I went for a CTEK 3.6 charger this time. Used it for a few days. Generally in comparison to the Optimate it appears to do the same job of charging/trickle charging the battery, both makes will desulphate a battery which will restore some life into an otherwise tired battery. The CTEK was £45 on Amaz...

Hidhead? - Tiger 50 Monte Carlo (154.5 tunnels)

Like driving through tunnels - try the A10 Autostrada between Nice and Genoa. Due to the topography there is precious little flat land along this stretch of coastline so you are either on a bridge or in a tunnel for almost the whole length. Numbers vary with a total of 154.5 galleria, (one straddles...

Optimate or CTEK battery charger?

It's the time of year when we start thinking of hibernating our pride Tiger's. I've used an Optimate battery charger for the past few years on my motorcycle and it constantly monitors the battery during periods of inactivity and always provides a powerful kick to turn over the motor when the weather...

Thanks for the reply Robin, I haven't tested my PCV system, the left side rocker cover is connected to the carb. However, since posting the comment I've found out that the breather cap isn't the correct fitment, the same with my air filter which is a Moroso aftermarket unit. The filler cap/breather ...

Oil blowing out of rocker cover breather

After a longish run last weekend in hottish conditions there was a small amount of engine oil deposited on the rocker cover having come out of the breather cap. Also noticed the front bumper ahead of the intake had some oil residue.

Anything I need to worry about?

Oil level on the dipstick was OK.
