I used ex-TVR T5 box which came with shorter tailsection. Meant gearlever came up centre of tunnel alongside existing hole. So just a little bit of cutting. There are however expensive kits to bring gear lever up through existing hole. Highly recommend 5 speeds for everyday driving & motorway cruisi...

T55

I fitted a 5 speed Tremec in my Tiger last year. Replaced T5 on a 302. Used same bellhousing. The good point is 40mph/1000rev 5th gear & very strong. Bad point was having to cut away some of the cross member under the ashtray. Also had to shorten centre console. Gear stick comes up just right. I wil...

Gary, don't bring your unreliable car near mine. It might be infectious & make mine breakdown!

Tony, just get a nodding dog, flat cap & pipe, re-badge the car "Volvo" and you're sorted for old age.

MG steering rack

I've just driven my Tiger for the first time since fitting an MG rack conversion. Must say I'm most impressed with the result, far more responsive without being too heavy to turn. But the old Tiger rack was well worn, so probably a bigger improvement than usual. Highly recommended. And it passed its...

I'd be too busy mending my car to join in! It looks like he is doing a burn out in reverse judging by the smoke.

Isle of Man

If I remember correctly, the regulations were changed to stop Tiger domination. I think that they insisted on 13" wheels & original brakes, which rather handicapped modified Tigers. Maybe someone knows the full story.

Great footage, but did you manage to find the porn films you were originally looking for?

320 bhp out of the box, 6500 rev limit, alloy heads, roller rockers. It makes sense. Then add a supercharger, but that's another story!

289 hipo

I had 289 heads with Hi Po size valves, thus keeping compression ratio, on my 260. I had to put small indents into the piston crowns where valves touched. I did it cowboy style with a small angle grinder, with pistons in place. But it worked. You need decent headers, inlet manifold & carb to make use...

Check the clutch & tyres by reving to 5000 rpm & let out clutch rapidly. Should leave nice black stripe & smell of burning rubber. If 2 black stripes, it has LSD in axle. Just relax & enjoy it.

hardtop

If you decide to get a fibre glass copy, to avoid rust & weight problems, they can come with crude fixings such as "J" hooks. But can be modified to take original fixings, if not already done.
