tiger carb
Has anyone ever replaced the power valve in the ford 2100 carb. on the 260 engine ? I have 2 power valves in a collection of carb parts but there are no ID marks or numbers on them. The workshop manual lists a No. 75 Green for low altitude ( below 5000 feet ).

temp sender
Is there a way of testing the water temperature sender unit before removing it. Also if it does need replacing, can it be removed from its mounting block in situ, or is it likely to be seized requiring the work to be done at the workbench and thus having to drain the coolant ?

build date
Can I find out the build date of my Tiger from the VIN plate?
starter
Does anyone know the diameter of the collar on the starter ( the bit that locates through the engine plate in front of the 5 bolt bell housing ) on the 260 engine. I have a new starter which I bought for a 6 bolt bellhousing on a 289 engine about 30 years ago and would like to know if it fits the 26...

Re: Dynamo Clearance Issues
I had this problem some years ago and fitted 1/4" thick spacers on the engine mount on that side of the engine and that cured it.

Re: Tyre Pressures
For the original RS 5 tyres ( 5.90 x 13 ) , the recommended pressures were 26 psi all round. This was supposedly up to 110 mph ! I don't think Tigers could do any more than this speed anyway, but if they could then the pressures should be raised to 32 psi.
dashboard
My Tiger has white letterring for the light switch and the wiper switch. The other switches have the little ring type labels held on by the ring nut. Is this unusual? It looks as though the white letters were put on the dashboard before it was varnished. It is the original dashboard.

front bumper
The front over riders on my Tiger are slightly angled forward. Is this normal, or should they be absolutely vertical? The bumper and the over riders are original and have never been damaged.

water pump
I need to replace my Tiger water pump. Is it possible to remove it without removing the radiator? To make things more awkward , there is not room enough to remove the fan with the radiator in situ as the pump shaft is only about 12 mm from the radiator. last time I did the job 12 years ago I did rem...
Re: wipers
Thanks Gary. I will give it a try.
wipers
Are the original Lucas wiper wheel boxes now available or if not are there any others which are suitable for the Tiger? I suspect that mine have far too much free play in them.
