Goodwood Revival

Hi,

Is anyone going to the Goodwood Revival, and if so are you taking your Tiger?

I'll be there on the Saturday, not sure if I'll be in the Tiger.

Michael,

Thank you for taking the trouble to post the photos. Yet another thing to add to the shopping list! At least I know what I am looking for now. Like I said before, knowing what is missing is half the battle.

These photos are really useful to me as it helps me work out what is and isn't correct on my Mk1 car. Way off topic I know, so apologies, but is the white bottle at the front of the engine bay on the drivers side (UK/NZ) the windscreen washer bottle? My car has it's bottle fitted behind the wooden p...

Thanks for the information. What was the original tyre size for the Tiger? I know it was originally fitted with 13" wheels and I'm trying to work out what difference 14X6 wheels will have on the speedo reading. The only figures I can find on the web regarding standard tyre sizes are 5.9x13, which is...

Thanks for the replies. I have had a look at the Minilite web site, and have also e mailed them with my requirements, but not knowing the name of the style of Minilite wheel I cannot be sure that I'll end up with exactly what I want. I would love to be at the Pageant of Power, but I have family comm...

Minilite Wheels

I intend to change the wheels on my Tiger. I would like to fit the same wheels as the ones fitted to the Mk2 Tiger on the cover of the latest Cats Whiskers. I know these are Minilite wheels, but they are of a slightly different style to the Minilites I have come across before with a flat area around...

Hi, Just thought I'd let you know that the car is sorted :D . I think there were a multitude of faults, but the main culprits were the HT leads. However I found so many components getting towards the end of their life I went the whole hog and replaced pretty much everything in the ignition system. S...

Holley Carb Power Valve

Hi, What are the symptoms of a blown power valve on a Holley 4150? I'm still trying to get my car to run correctly but I don't want to strip the carb unless I have to. However to get maximum manifold vacuum the idle mixture screws only have to be about one eight of a turn out, so I wondered if there...

I'll be going through the basics very soon, hopefully this weekend. I've already found that it has a coil designed for a non ballasted ignition system fitted, and a quick check with a volt meter yesterday showed that the car has a ballasted system. In fact Redbaron has told me that the coil is not e...

I will most definitely investigate the history of my car both via the club and the DVLA.

I take it that the chap at Mech Motorsport knows his way around a Holley?

Thanks for the welcome & replies chaps! Yes, my car has certainly been modified; it has a 302 engine fitted with a Holley carb, and the way the car goes suggests that there maybe further modifications to the engine. When you put your foot down it feels like the car picks you up and hurls you down th...

Mallory Dual Point Distributors

Hi, The first of many questions from me I'm sure! My Tiger has a misfire/back fire when the throttle is opened more than about two thirds. I'm trying to track the cause down, and have discovered that the car has a Mallory dual point distributor fitted. Firstly, can you get an electronic ignition con...

Unfortunately not only is Mallory Park a bit of a trek for me, but I'm also working on Monday.

However I am very keen to see as many Tigers as possible at some stage so I can tell what is correct on my car and what isn't! It does need a fair bit of TLC I'm afraid.

Hello All

Hello! Just to introduce myself, I’m Tim and as of yesterday I am a Tiger owner. I’ll be joining your club in the next few days so hopefully I’ll be meeting some of you soon. Whilst I’ve had many classic cars over the years this is my first Rootes Group car and my first foray into American V8 engine...
