Arrived at Cranleigh 08.45 this morning and was first car to pull up at the Tigers alloted space and for 15 mins felt a bit lonely as the only car there. Need not of worried though as Tigers began to flow through the gate at what seemed to be every 2nd or 3rd car until a total of some 18 or 19 cars ...

Picked up on you observation about back fire through exhaust this can point to unburnt fuel entering the exhaust system and is ignited by the heat in the exhaust system. Generally this points to an ignition prob, what ignition system are you using?

Just to let you know the scanner they used on our car to scan the paint colour needed an area of paint around the size of a fag packet .

We had the colour scanned on our white tiger last week and the paint shop came up with a match to a VW colour, rein weiss not sure wether our car is an original white as it has been painted before in its life but if you like the white on our car that is what it matches.

Have been working on my cooling system a lot last few weeks and would say it would be impossible to fit electric fan behind rad unless your rad has been moved forward, not enough clearence between rad and waterpump to get the fan in

Update 24/07/09 Decided that while I was going to take rad out again to make new fan brackets, I might as wel get the rad recored. The electric fan is a puller that the previous owner wired back to front to give the impression that it was blowing through the rad, just reversing the polarity is not enough the pitch of the blades needs to be correct. I know some fans can have the blades reversred to be either puller or pusher but...
