Brad,

CPP Custom power and paint

Hi Brad, As Bob has said in an earlier posting,Real Steel in the UK do have a good reputation for engines that they supply. The downside to buying from the States for us would be the warranty,if it goes wrong long way to ship back :( You say that you want a 302 above size engine, the next will be 331...

Standard 260,289,302,or modified or a Stroker engine?

Door channels and seals

Tony, excellent work you are doing by recording with photos the job in hand. As to the lubricating of the door lock, firstly I would degrease the lock to remove the old residue of hardened grease. Then use a good quality spray grease,I use WURTH spray grease, which is quite tenacious and has good last...

Door channels and seals

Tony, it does not matter if you have fat or thin fingers to do the job you will need a good set of needle nose pliers. And patience First place a couple of strips of masking tape along the top of the door,to protect the finish in case you slip with the tools. For the outer weather strip clips grasp t...

Some Old Pics

Hi Martin,
thanks for posting these pics, really good to see all the stuff from years ago.
What happened to JKP 300E,that Tiger was rebuilt by myself and Nic Murray, during the early 90s
He sold it on and I lost contact with it.

No problem with the Tech Tips forum,it may be because no one has anything to contribute and the fact that the Tiger 50th Monte celebrations have been underway in Europe.

Coil

Rob, are you sure that the coil you have, which I presume is a Flame Thrower Chrome unit has the right impedence, the Mallory part no. 29126 which is recomended for the Magnetic Distributor, has an impedence of 0.70 ohms and the Flame Thrower is higher at 1.5 ohms, you should be careful of the module i...

Coil

Rob, the Mallory coil part number 29216,is a coil for Electronic distributors, either the Unilite or the Magnetic. The coil 29217 is the coil for Universal use,i.e good for use with contact breakers.this coil has a black top,and not a light brown top. The way to tell the better Mallory Electronic coi...

Coil

Tony, yes using an MSD does give you another coil choice, but when running a Mallory distributor with either an optical pick up or magnetic ,one has to use their specified coil due to the impedence rating. You can not run an MSD Coil with the Mallory distributor, unlesss you are using the MSD CD unit ...

Coil

Hi Rob, These coils are absolute rubbish, poor quality windings inside and not filled with enough oil. They do say to mount upright, but that does not solve the problem. If you mount upside down you will only expose the windings in the bottom of the coil, and probably speed up the inevitable leak from ...
