SPA Tour

A club Tour to Spa and the Nurburgring plus a circuit in Belgium on the return leg should be on. Some members are keen to go whether there are Tigers racing at the Spa Francorchamps circuit or not but personally I'd would hope some Team Tiger racers are entering one of the weekend events. I know tha...

Team Tiger at Silverstone

This is a record Tiger turnout for any motor racing event in the U.K and probably anywhere! Extremely Well Done Team Tiger and the best of luck to all of you on the day.

Hartwell History

It would be great to determine which MKII is the 7th "Hartwell". The vinyl covered hardtop is a good if circumstantial clue since this was not a factory item. STOC has some letters from Alan Hartwell and we will dig them out. In the meantime I can confirm that the 6 British 'Hartwell' Tiger 2's have...

LAT 16

Hi Robin & Michael
The repro decal is as close as we could get to the original. The best image I have presently is here http://www.sunbeamtiger.co.uk/pictures/scans/lat16.jpg STOC Regalia can supply a few to the Sunbeam Club of Victoria

"Drive It Day"

Glad you enjoyed the day Jason & Shelly. Thanks a lot for posting your pics. I didn't do any better with my camera but my attempts can be seen here http://www.sunbeamtiger.co.uk/Galleries/Classfieds/DID/index.html 19 Tigers turned out for the 'Reigate Crew' run to the South Coast. I will put a full ...

Overseas Buyer

Hi Gregs 302.

What happened to the German buyer. Did the deal go through OK? Be good to hear if there is anything we need to learn from your experience.

Overseas Buyer

Speaking personally, I say do NOT provide any copies of your passport. Insist on being paid by bank to bank transfer in British pounds BEFORE your buyer collects the car and only the amount that is the price for the car - no more no less. All you should provide the buyer with is a receipt and the re...

SUNNY DAYS

Hi JAY & SHEL The Rootes Trust (Archive) Open Day is not really a car meet, although I am sure several Rootes classics will be there and maybe the odd Tiger. It is an open day at the Centre which is where much Rootes history can be looked at along with all the engineering drawings of the Rootes Grou...

Happy Days

Hi Owain Interesting seeing the ADU plate on your Tiger. As you may know it is the 2nd and 3rd alpha that denoted the registration area; in this case Coventry Council. Other alphas used by Coventry up to 1974 include: KV, RW, HP, VC and WK. Tigers bearing ADU include: the rally cars ADU 311B & ADU 3...

Engine Colour

The 'Book of Norman' correctly points out that MK1 (B947) Tigers had Black painted blocks. Norman Miller also points out that MK1A - really, late MK1's - (B3820) Tigers had Old Ford Blue painted blocks from approx B382000601. STOC takes Norman's word for that since only a couple of dozen MK1A's left...

Pageant of Power 2009

This looks like a very promising event; one that STOC could usefully support. It has been added to the STOC Events Diary along with links to the 2008 Action and will go into Cats Whiskers. If members feel there are other promising events and meetings that would interest us Sunbeam Tiger owners drop ...

Tiger 289

Hi Whisperer Ford Inc supplied the Rootes Group with the 289 engine to an agreed performance specification. The 200 bhp (gross) rated engine was fitted to the MKII Tiger between very late '66 and June 67. All were delivered with unique engine numbers and these can be found on a 'Sunbeam Ltd' sticker...

Tiger Won't Start

Mal.
Sorry to see your post about the ignition problems you having with your new Tiger. Sadly I cannot add much more to what you have done but hopefully my posting this message will prompt wiser members than I to get onto your case.

Come on STOC let's get some advice to Mal.

Nigel's Promise

Nigel and mate Adrian did manage another great promotion stunt for the Tiger. "The Promise" video can be seen on the 4Music freeview channel and at Youtube. Look out for the white machine with Shelby stripes. The vid opens with an Alpine but with a Tiger rumble sound track! A bunch of stills can vie...
