The completed X member, still got the hubs to do, can't decide which way to go with brakes, kind of blown that budget on the engine bay re-spray!! Thanks Tony. Randy did suggest just that, so I have welded towers at top and bottom. I have HD springs from Sunbeam spares, not sure what lbs they are. Off to see Red Barron tomorrow. He's building me a 289 5 bolt. Engine bay and X member sprayed today. I have no idea how I am going to get the engin...

Randy. By making the filler in three parts I was able to shape the vertical section as a one piece gusset which runs from the inner lower bulkhead to just beyond chassis bolt holes and runs just beside the access hole in the bottom and welded all the way. all in 2mm plate, hope that makes sense.

Martin. Update on the cross member. I spoke with Randy today and got the measurements required. Bad news is that I have a bent cross member which is out by 1/2-3/4" across the shock towers which would account for no shims that side. Dear Santa.... Do you have two lower wishbones the lower right would do.

Joe. The ballast resister reduces the resistance to the coil allowing it to run cooler. You can run without it but the coil may run hotter. They stem from the days when we had conventional points. If you left the Ignition on and the points were closed it would burn out the coil. this tends not to be...
