A five speed box seems a sensible choice in this day and age, but was it a realistic consideration in the sixties, probably not. Probably would have pushed the cost of the car towards E-type levels, I know which one I would have had as a customer then  Hi Tony, The way I look at it, with all ...

Graham, I will not be voting. It seems the results will be to used to guide STOC on its members preferences as to what others have declared to be a strictly British issue. To the extent that this poll influences what stand the club will take in forthcoming deliberations on legal guidelines in the U...

STOC, Throughout this topic all i have only ever advocated is that someone with the skills workshop space and time could and should be able to make that choice between hours of fruitless welding or to rustfree reshell with decaration, emphasis on the DECLARATION. No deception, no fraud. For my trou...

Wouldn't that have been fantastic for Rootes to have continued without the Chrysler interference. For me, I also would like to have seen better brakes (4 wheel disc brakes and 15" rims), limited slip diff, independent rear suspension (or at least a watts link) with a re-designed body allowing for be...

Robin, You accussed me of getting stressy in my post's, mate calm down or your gonna blow a big fuse there.... I get the impression you may think Meadowdog and i are mates and in this topic for some sort of gain? Truth be told we've never even met and have nothing to gain other than common sense. Y...

If you have no issue, why is it that you continue to have this 'us' and 'them' mentality and continue to insult prodominantly international members. You have absolutely no understanding of who I am or of my abilities and my financial position is none of your concern. If only you could put as much ef...

So it would appear that only you two can mudsling and that you two are obviously the leading experts in this field. It doesn't seem to matter what points people bring up, you both twist them around to try and make other people look misinformed and belittled. Until you can both show the people on thi...

If we can't give you the definition that you seek, well you best enlighten us with your knowledge that we must obviously lack. One other comment. We haven't forgotten anything, so what if you declare that you have re-shelled. It's the fact that you don't seem understand that you label it something t...

As you have said before a reshell is fine if its declared, why all this going back on what you agreed. What are you really afraid of? Currentley we have Alpine V8s and Tiger fraud. Reshelling to a standard will go a long way to eliminating the fraud and defining the Alpine V8 difference. I haven't ...

It has been put to bed, It will become more widely accepted i'm sure. Thankfully here we're more open to it. Some people on here still cannot accept that their "Tiger" is a direct variant of the humble "Alpine" which is a shame because sadly for them..... it is. It is an iconic 60's sports car whic...

Hi Robin, I don't know what you are rebutting from my statements. My position has always been the same and is rebodies are not genuine Rootes ordered and Jensen built Sunbeam tigers. The problem always comes about when someone in their garage or shed decides to create or "save" a Sunbeam Tiger and ...

Steven, This whole STICKY thread has been for the sake of discussing "Re Shelling" No one on here is questioning the legitimacy of your car because you have changed wings (Fenders? Mudgaurds?) It is still obviously a Tiger. The point we have been trying to thrash out here is this, The subtly modifi...

Re: Wow
Having been thru the ringer and having my car TAC'ed this last month, all I can say is BFD to numbers match. Most everything gets moved around on these cars. These cars are toys to be played with, mine was!. A changed wing, an exploded drive train, numbers do not make the Tiger, but it all adds up....
