Paul, I would be happy for you to PM/email me about 295B, feel free to send me the full story. The one thing you can probably answer me about that car in this thread.. was the revived car an alpine conversion with the 295 VIN and registration or was it a Tiger that then attempted to acquire the hist...

Excuse my ignorance, but whats a false floor & where does it go? Is it the timber one in the boot. I'm worried now that my car might not be original. The false floor is also reffered to as the toe board. Its the panel fitted to the passengers side of an alpine or tiger that the passenger puts their...

If we cant decide what is an acceptable rebuild or rebody, a car that has knowingly been destroyed come back to life (a fake) and passed a TAC, then theres no chance the DVLA would be able to impose their point system. Lets move on. Has anyone ever actually outed a alger thats passed TAC? We have h...

Let's be honest now, they may have just asked for the VIN, JAL, axle tag, gearbox tag and logbook to be put in the post. We may never know. Dont think you could do that... there needs to be a record of a car coming into the country with those ID's otherwise they wont be able to register it here... ...

Intresting comment's there Mr Button.... Putting a Tiger into an Alpine? The Tiger came from the Alpine. It's all in the name, in France it's called an Alpine 260, so over ther we'd be reshelling an Alpine into an Alpine albeit a 260 If Rootes had named these car's as both Alpine and Alpine 260 ins...

It seems to me that with the level of replies and excuse me if I sound blunt most people arnt bothered if a Tiger is authentic as long as most of the bits are there even if they have been removed, repaired and replaced into either a Alpine or back into the Tiger. Once any part has been removed it w...

Also there is the question of what cars had square or rounded parts. There doesnt appear to be clear cut off points for this. I'm not 100% sure of the actual change in VIN where the bodies changed.. but in regards to the bonnets/doors/boots and vents.. there are several stages. Early MKI's, cars ha...

Graham, I think ian used that round LAT logo on a few things.. if you remember the playboy tiger (dont we all? ) it had one of those logos mounted on the bonnet in what looked like a S3 Alpine/rapier fastback bonnet badge base, the same logo appreared in the LAT brochure on the LAT bonnet. htt...

Re: tiger
michael, just out of curiosity, do you think that a rebodied tiger could never be tac'd? and if so,why? Bob, If someone knew enough about the production process and used the same methods to modify the body on the key TAC points of inspection, then in theory sure, someone could get a rebody through ...

Dear Red Racer and Micheal I dont think you are different in your reasons for a common desscription of waht entails a Tiger. Can I suggest you both agree on what that desciption entails so that the club can vote on what a legal description should be. Should that be from rad mounts and exhaust mount...
