Hi Andy,

The air filter you are after is the K&N filter with number: E-2859.
I have this filter on my own Tiger so there is no doubt about it.

Hi meadowhog, sorry that I did not check the link you provided first. It is indeed a splendid article! If you want to buy a kit why not contact Tom as I did and buy the kit from him? The costs are included P&P something like 6 or 7 GBP. The advantage of buying from Tom is also that he replaces in th...

Another possibility is repairing the tachometer by using the the instructions from the american citizen Tom Hayden. This engineer published a brilliant article on the internet with the title "Repair/Upgrade for Sunbeam Alpine Electronic Tachometer". I have had contact with Tom by email and I bought ...

With that adaptor the oilfilter is not pointing down but sidewards therefore it is in this case not possible to use the bigger Fram oilfilter I am using now. ...

Hi Mal,

Yes the filter is pointing down. My Tiger has a standard 289 ci engine.
I overlooked that you have headers on your engine. Sorry about the confusion!

Hi Mal, I use the same adaptor as you and on that adaptor I have mounted a Mann oilfilter with the code W 940/81. As a reserve I have a Fram oilfilter with the code PH 2881 and that filter has a diameter of 94mm which is aproximately 3 and 11/16 inch, while the length is 144 mm which is aproximately...

Regarding the two types of oil seals: it is possible to use both seals. Originally the seal was a rope seal and a sharp pin was centered in the seal groove in the rear main cap. This was done to prevent the roap seal from rotating. If you want to use a spit-lip-seal the pin has to come out and you h...

Both crankshafts are the same as is confirmed in the parts list concerning Tiger Mark 1 and Tiger Mark 2. It is about the only thing in both engines that are the same. For more details check the book "Mustang & Ford Small Block V8" from the author Bob Mannel.

To start with adjusting the fuel mixture on a fixted venturi carburetor only set's the mixture at idle, as soon as you move the throtle the mixture is down to jet size and air flow. The CO% on idle should be about 1.5% +/- .5%. If you have a four gas emission tester as used in all UK MOT stations, ...
