Ford block colors

Hello, I have a very unmolestic engine block with the C40E 6015C code. Now this engine is very low milege. I will be fitting standard rings & bearings. So why is this engine block painted orange?

You have fluid pssing the seals in the slave or the master. Very minor at the moment. Will get worse, rebuild.

On the CAT site it has 2 pages of comment, the general trend is how an origional owner could neglect it enough to allow salt water up to the window line.

Your best option is to contact the sunbeam-alpine.co.uk for a good supply of parts. There are suppliers in USA as well.
I assume you have checked for the usual rust points at the lower rear and lower back piece.

Yes, remove the origional felt/horshair with lots of elbow work and carefull use of a power sander. My floors are now painted metal waitiing for the heatshield sheets. Yes, the MX5 seats have been retrimmed waiting for fitting.

You metioned you are using silicon fluid. It is very hydroscopic, it will absorb mosture where mineral fluid will not. There is quite a deal of discussion on air absorbed into silicon brake fluid. If the volmeter is reading 13V or higher yes the charging system is working. 13.8V is ideal. Thats if you have a standard battery. Some exotics want 14.4V.

I think a previous post about waxed paper may be good, others say a thin cork gasket will also stop the dreaded slip.

And don't use the replacement rubber hinge gaskets, they slip and you will damage the paint very quickly. Replace them with cork and no slip.

Wondering about shipping the body on the Rotisserie did you have any problems with it shifting ? I am about to send my body to the shop and its on a Rotisserie.
