False boot floor

What thickness of ply was used for the false boot floor ?

Is the vinyl covering available and also the hardware.

Mine was not there when I bought the car.

Cheers Mal

Paul There was quite a lot of discussion here on the Brembo brake thread http://sunbeamtiger.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=545&highlight=brembo Willwood also make a kit now for the Tiger. If you go to their webb site you should find all the info needed. Probably not a lot more expensive than the used ...

Thanks Mal, there is some debate as to whether they are any good, I'll take your word. Now, is there a problem with using new lifters with an old cam? Im not sure what the cam is but with forged pistons, screw in studs and doubled up springs I guess its pretty warm, which is apparently good with Rh...

I used a set of Rhoads lifters in a Pontiac engine once. They did work and give better low rpm performance and increased the vacuum which was helpful for the brake booster. The only down side with the Rhoads is they are noisy. I was told by a reputable engine builder it's not the lifter making the n...

Re: Rack and Roll

I've never set eyes on a Stiletto but they are a sweet looking coupé How did the new rack set up and power steering fare? What's the effect on the dreaded "Get out of my way! I AM trying to turn..." angle been? Tom I don't think there is any improvement in the turning circle in the cense of a measu...

Re: Imp-ressive

Hi Mal - great shots and stunning setting. Is that a set of '86' plates on your Tiger? And out of curiosity, were all of the Imp owners looking for their engines??? Yea that's my Tiger with the GSMART plates. They say as you get older you revert back to your childhood  The imp owners found th...

NZ Sunbeam AGM & Tiger 50 celabrations 2014

The NZ Sunbeam car club held their AGM in Gisborne this year and celebrated the Tiger 50 years with a run from New Plymouth on the west coast to Gisborne on the east. I think they had about 21 cars to start the run with others joining in on the way. In the end they ended up with 41 cars registered f...

I finished off the install this morning apart from the wiring. I did have a temporary wiring set up just to test for any leaks or problems. As with anything in a Tiger it is Tiger tight. I didn't think I could have used the original water elbow so I made up this. I welded a bolt to the top of it so ...

Mal, do you have 15 or 16 teeth on that drive? I've just taken mine out of what I believe to be the original 4-speed toploader (UK RHD 1965 Mk1) and I have 15 teeth. I've sent out a couple of enquiries, one to the US and one to Austrialia, and they both have said they can only provide 16 teeth, 15 ...

Just like mine with a mirror image...did you massage ( taper ) the back of the pinion side to help the angle for the steering u-joints?? Jim ( in Canada ) Jim Yes I did. Like you told me, if you don't the pinion angle is straight up. You can't angle it back any further because of the hyd boss. Than...

How many turns lock to lock will you have on the MX5 compared to the standard Tiger setup?
Thanks Tony. It is 2.7 turns lock to lock. I think the Tiger rack is 3.2.

MX5 Fitted. Centre of the rack shaft is the same distance from the mounts as the Tiger rack. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/15/c9lb.jpg Plenty of room around the pinion, but I still don't think I will be able to use the aluminium elbow. Hyd fitting will get in the way. Fan belt just goe...
