Rear axle outer seal change
Hi guys, I need to replace the rear outer oil seals on the rear axle. Looking at the manual seems like a straight forward job, once the hubs are removed! The question is, it will be possible to create a puller in to simulate the tool shown in the manual, but how likely is it that the hubs will split...

Hard Top fit
Hi Guys, I have a hard top ex an Alpine. The hard Top has not had any significant restoration work done to it, only the two rear corners which is very typical. My Tiger has definitely not had any work done on the rear deck which is original. However, the hard Top does not sit properly onto the rear ...

Stadium Type Mirrors
Hi Guys, Searching the net I have seen several pictures of Tigers fitted with the Stadium Type Clamp on Mirror fitted to the driver side quarter light. Although this seems like a good solution to my requirement for mainly a reversing mirror when back into my garage, there seems little room between t...

Re: accelerator pedal
Hi, I'm pretty sure that the pedal was secured to the floor by self tapping screws. I know this as having restored 2 Tigers and several Alpines over the years, the fixing (and pedal) are always rotten as this area suffers from dampness from water from feet making the carpet wet! I would secure the p...

Re: Hard top dimensions needed
Thanks Adam, Yes the pegs line up although the position of the hinges can be moved backwards and forwards to adjust the amount the pins locate into the hinge. Yes its strange why it makes contact at the centre and stands off at he corners. The hard top fit on a previous Tiger that I owned seem to fi...

Hard top dimensions needed
Hi Guys, Having completed a full restoration of a hard top for my Tiger, when fitted it seems to not fit snugly on the rear corners but stands off about 1/2 inch. The rear rail sits close onto the rear deck in the middle with a gap increasing towards the corners. The car deck is original and unmoles...

Re: Aluminium radiator and stuff
Hi Adam, Having had overheating problems in a previous Tiger, with my current Tiger, although sceptical, I used Frost's 'Stay Cool' as my coolant and have had no overheating poblems. This Sunday I did 120 miles in air temperatures of 27 degrees, including some traffic, with no problems at all. Perha...

Hard top restoration
Hi Guys, Having nearly completed restoring of a hardtop for my Tiger, I have one job to do, fit the rear window. Question: Having put the window in using the correct old stock rubber, it seems impossible to now fit the chrome surround which seems to have to clip over the outside of the rubber and th...

Door/Wing mirrors
Hi Guys, I am going to fit either door or wing mirrors to my car. The older I get the more difficult it is to twist around in the seat to look behind when reversing :( I would appreciate any observations that anybody may have to what is best to fit, and whether to fit door or wing mirrors. There is ...

Hardtop headlining
Hi Guys, Has anybody any advice or instructions on how to renew a hardtop headlining. It seems clear from the old headling reminents that the front of the headlining is pop riveted to a moulded steel section at each side, then this moulding attached to the headling is pop riveted to the hardtop at t...

Hardtop Raingutter trim
Hi Guys, Has anybody got advice on how best to remove the chrome rain gutter trim from a hardtop without damage. Clearly they have to be removed from the underside as they hook over the metal gutter moulding at the top. I have a set already removed from a hardtop by some one else but have been wreck...
