If a Tiger retain's it's original paperwork (Logbook) Vin Plate, and has been rebodied to a recognised standard how can it be anything other than a Tiger by name.....although one clearly not built by Jenson we'd all agree. I should write a book..... Paul, The way i look at it is that if the o...

So, keeping the bulkhead and replacing everything else makes it a Tiger regardless of whether it has a 302, midget rack, bimbo brakes, stainless exhuast, alloy wheels, upgraded rad, carpets, soft top, rubbers, 5 stud hubs discs all round, IRS, respray, etc etc. Im just trying to tease out what is a...

Graham,

Thanks for that. Interesting that Ian seems to have removed the POWERED BY FORD 260 sheilds on the car and replaced it with the falcon 260 V8 badges from USA fords! IIRC the same badge appeared on the miles prototype car when it did some PR shots

Bob, You dont seem to listen/get it.. whatever.. a car someone converts at home/the shop etc.. is still a conversion. Swapping tags is all about people trying to decieve others.. If you are doing a conversion because you want a V8 powered sunbeam, your tiger is to far gone to repair, or you just don...

Yes humbug indeed. I guess the whole point of all this debate and discussion is this really, it's a question i have asked already but not one that's been answered or taken up. What is "The" car? and in that question i'm asking is it the paperwork and vin (documents) or is it "THE" car itself. To me...

I have been wathing this thread with interest. So what you chaps are saying is my Tiger will not be genuine when I replace the damaged body panels. I say crap, it is a Tiger and it it genuine. Merry Christmas and kill this thread Steven, Very strong and broad brush sentiments without really reading...

Mal, interesting point you raise with regards to the GTHO falcons, and same for GTS monaros and E46 chargders.. i didnt use these examples ealier as they are specific to our part of the world (hence using ac ace/cobra things like BDA escort/normal escort).... they built a limited number of GTHOs and...

There were also the GT Tigers as well which you would think would have been done together. Maybe we will never know Tony. Rob, all the GT tigers have consecutive numbers, they were one batch. As for your comments regarding a car here and odd details on it.. mismatched parts on a Tiger wont fail a T...

Was any of the body worth saving from that Tiger anyway? With the amount of rusty parts, it would have taken thousand of dollars restoring them to put on a Tiger. I agree that if you wish to re-shell a Tiger, it should certainly be documented as such but sadly in reality they are very rarely brough...

Alpines, Tigers, Converted and V6's...... and buyer beware  Beware of what Micheal? A car that quite possibly has had more care and attention to detail than the original and has been reshelled with the same shell that the car came from in the first place ie an Alpine We are all missing the po...

There seems to be a USA poster who is rather undereducated on the classic scene in his own country. There has been a recent court case in the states regarding one of the top mustang restorers and the issue of them putting the VIN's of original rusted cars (mostly GT500's) onto either repro shells an...

Why keep the Alpine Vin? we're talking about a complete re-shelled Tiger into a rust free Alpine which is then a Tiger or am i missing something?? Regardless of weather Jenson carried out the mod's or tom dick or harry did it it's a Tiger regardless. Personally should i own such a car i'd have no h...

And again, Sorry Micheal i have to strongly disagree, i have read your post's elsewhere world wide where you say that Alger owners should not allowed to display their cars alongside yours ie a "REAL" Tiger..... C'mon mate that's a bit harsh. : I dont get where you are getting this.. read what i wro...

Re: tiger

i guess if michael knew what the cost to do it right really is, he might change his attitude after looking at and understanding the owners viewpoint. Bob.. as usual you havent read what i have written.. so to break it down quickly for you.. you have made my point for me.. They are switching ...
