Not that I'm aware of. Talked to the Koni guys but they informed me that Rick in US has the absolute Monopol to get them made in smaller batches. From time to time he had them available. Graham, that's one of the reasons I have quitted my Practical Classics Abo. I was registered for years but ultimately got annoyed by by the countless MG / BL and badly increasing Youngtimer stories. Looks like my decision was correct..?

I run a similar setup on a standard 289 but with an 2 -> 4 barrel adaptor plate on the standard cast iron manifold. It doesn't show such problems. Perhaps because it sits slightly higher. Not sure how the Edelbrock is laid out but I had this problem with a Weiand Manifold. Symptoms exactly as you described therfore pretty likely a wrong connection. Cooling loss was also minimal as you told...
Also had this same problem earlier. It's most likely a wrong connection of the water heater hose to the inlet manifold. Happened with a new aftermarket manifold which features swopped connections. Check carefully again and get it fixed promptly. Remember different from air water can not be compresse...
