Hi Lou,

Do you mind telling us where you got the machining work done on your engine?

As soon as I start the engine while the brake pedal is pushed I feel the pedal sinking a bit.

Best regards,

This is nothing to worry about; in fact it is completely normal and it just means that your brake servo is operating correctly.

Tiger MoT Failure Rates

Not sure how accurate this is, but quite interesting: The MoT failure rates of various different cars & what they failed on. Compared to some other makes, Sunbeams seem to do quite well!

Thanks David,
Making sure that numbers 7 & 8 are not touching does make a difference - it moves the mis-fire up the rev range by 200rpm!

HT Leads

Does anyone have a photo of the correct routing for the HT leads on a Tiger? My car has a right hotch-potch of Unipart leads which I strongly suspect are the cause of a mis-fire over 4000 rpm. I'm about to order a set from Magnecor and I want to make sure they're right. They do a set for the Mustang...

I sent off a V888 form to the DVLA and in return received a photo copy of all the changes made to the log book over the years. The last few records from 1974 onwards were fine, but the copy of the original green log book which contained details of the first three owners was very poor, and disappoint...

Thanks very much for that, especially the number of turns to get the rack centralised. The reason I've removed the front sub frame is because the steering had become very notchy & stiff, especially after a long journey when everything is hot. The good news is that the rack seems fine, although it wa...

Tracking On A Tiger

Where is the best place to get the tracking set on a Tiger? As the track rod ends need to be disconnected I'm guessing my local tyre place isn't going to be too keen on taking the job on, although I could be wrong.

Alternator Bracket

Has anyone converted their Tiger to a Lucas ACR type alternator, and if so, did you have to fabricate the mounings or can you buy a suitable mount from somewhere? As I found out on the M5 last Saturday, the mounts on my car are decidedly home made and allow the alternator to move, leading to the bel...
