Re: Mk1 vs Mk1A

Mk 1 has metal cover over the stowed soft top, Mk 1A has a soft plastic vinyl cover. Mk 1A has footwell vents under the louvers in front of the windshield and knobs under the dash to open and close them. Mk 1 has no vents. Mk 1A mirror is larger.

Re: bonnet safety catch

You will have to reach into the grille and loosen the hinge bolts. Once you get it open, loosen and adjust the pin and latch, so that the pin is centered properly (use plastercine?) and re-tighten. Good luck!

I understand Tom Hall in the US is lookin...

That is correct, ksherlock and the number on the socket (spanner, sparking plug in Rootes speak) is Z5798. Those numbers are reproduced on the replicas.

Tiger Tool Replicas - Plug Socket and Tommy Bar

Most Tiger tools are the same as those used on Alpines and other contemporary Brit cars and are often available on Ebay. The exception is the Tiger-unique Plug Socket and associated Tommy Bar. We have 3D printed replicas of these parts which are dimensionally accurate and closely resemble the origin...
